These goods cannot be legally imported into Nigeria.
- Live or dead birds including frozen poultry.
- Pork and beef meats.
- Birds’ eggs, excluding hatching eggs.
- Refined vegetable oils and fats (excl. refined linseed, castor & olive oils; crude vegetable oil is allowed).
- Cane or beet sugar and chemically pure sucrose in retail packs.
- Cocoa butter, powder and cakes.
- Spaghetti / noodles.
- Fruit juice in retail packs.
- Waters (mineral or aerated) with added sugar or flavouring / non-alcoholic beverages (excl. certain energy/health drinks).
- Bagged cement.
- Medicaments in certain categories (e.g., paracetamol, cotrimoxazole, metronidazole, chloroquine, multivitamins, aspirin, IV fluids, etc.) with specific exceptions.
- Waste pharmaceuticals. Seek expert advice for guidance.
- Soaps and detergents sold in retail packs.
- Mosquito repellent coils.
- Re-threaded and used pneumatic tyres (with some exceptions).Seek expert advice for guidance.
- Corrugated paper and paper board products (various items).
- Carpets and rugs of all kinds.
- Footwear, bags, suitcases (subject to limited exceptions). Seek expert advice for guidance.
- Hollow glass bottles over certain sizes.
- Used compressors, air conditioners, fridges, and freezers.
- Used motor vehicles older than 12 years from the year of manufacture.
- Ballpoint pens and parts (excluding tips).
